Ba Ria Thermal Power Joint Stock Company (BTP), formerly known as Ba Ria Electricity Factory, was established in 1992 under the control of Electricity Company No.2 belonging to the Ministry of Energy. The factory became a subsidiary of Electricity of Vietnam in 1995 and accounted independently in 2005. On December 29, 2006, BTP was capitalized and transformed into Ba Ria Thermo-electricity Joint Stock Company. BTP manages and operates 10 power-generating units with a total capacity of 389 MW. BTP has been listed on Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE) since 2009.
