Southern Waterborne Transport Corporation (SWC), formerly known as Southern Waterways Administration, was established in 1975. Since June 2009, SOWATCO has been put into operation under the model of a joint stock company. SOWATCO operates in inland waterway transportation, port and warehouse operations, cargo handling, and shipbuilding and repair services.
